LeafTide's label names six botanicals: green tea leaf extract, guarana seed extract, African mango extract, astragalus root, eleuthero root and grape seed extract. Two of them, green tea and guarana, contain caffeine. The sales page does not list the dose of each ingredient.

Ingredient by ingredient
| Ingredient | What it is | What research says |
|---|---|---|
| Green tea leaf extract | Concentrated tea catechins such as EGCG, plus caffeine | Small effect on weight in studies; concentrated extracts have rare reports of liver injury |
| Guarana seed extract | A natural source of caffeine from a Brazilian plant | Works like caffeine: alertness and a small rise in calorie burn |
| African mango extract | Seed extract of Irvingia gabonensis | A few small studies; the NIH considers the evidence too limited to draw conclusions |
| Astragalus root | A traditional herb used in Chinese medicine | Little research on weight or energy in people |
| Eleuthero root | Also called Siberian ginseng, used as an "adaptogen" | Mixed, limited evidence for fatigue |
| Grape seed extract | A source of plant antioxidants (proanthocyanidins) | Studied for circulation; not a weight-loss ingredient |
The caffeine question
Because the caffeine amount is not listed, count LeafTide as a caffeinated drink. The FDA says up to about 400 mg of caffeine a day is generally not linked to negative effects in healthy adults, but people differ a lot. Avoid stacking it with energy drinks or pre-workouts, and take it in the morning so it does not disturb your sleep. See How to avoid the afternoon energy crash.
Reading any supplement label
- Look for exact doses per serving, not only ingredient names.
- Check for third-party testing seals.
- Be careful with products that promise fast or effortless weight loss.
